 “The Biggest Game in the World”

The 2012-2013 NBA season has come to an end after Game 7 of the NBA Finals on last night.  The entire nation experienced the “Best of the Best…” the greatest series to appear in Finals history and a very long time.  The Heat were able to maintain the lead the entire night as they ended the first quarter…up by two points 18-16…and completed the half with 46 points to the Spurs 44.  Chalmers came with an incredible 3-point shot at the buzzer to close the third quarter with one point more than the Spurs 72-71. 

Although the Heat was able to maintain the lead after every quarter, the Spurs were giving them a tough fight to the finish. 

And just as any sports fan knows…27 seconds left in a ball game can extend to 10 more minutes of play.  In the final quarter with 27.9 seconds to go, Lebron James two point shot attempt brought the game to a very questionable score of 92-88…Heat up.  The Spurs just couldn’t push through to bring a bucket to the basket as the game closed out 88 to 95.  The Spurs 15 turnovers changed the status of the ball game.  “Being so close and feeling that you are about to grab that trophy and seeing it vanish is so hard.  It’s a tough feeling,” states Manu Ginobili in an interview afterwards.

Tony Parker also states, “We’re really disappointed.  We had a great fight but couldn’t get over the hump.  That’s life.  That’s sports.”  The Heat was able to stop Tony Parker’s penetration and there was no way with Lebron’s defense against the Spurs offense that the Spurs could get through the fire.  Lebron was a dominating figure in Game seven as he was awarded the 2013 NBA Finals MVP for the second consecutive year.  James had four triples in last night’s game… dropping an incredible 37 points and 12 rebounds which calculates to the most ever in an NBA Finals Game seven. James “eclipsed” 30 points for the 5^th time in his NBA Finals career. 

He now joins Michal Jordan and Bill Russell as the only players in NBA history to win back-to-back regular-season MVPs and NBA titles.  He let the world know, “I’m blessed…I don’t have any worries.” 

His companion and partner and crime on the court Wade states in an interview, “We did whatever it took.  We are a brotherhood…two championships in three years…we’re honored, we’re blessed.”  On the other hand, Chris Bosh didn’t ever seem to get in a rhythm as he didn’t contribute any points to the win last night although he stood out defensively.  Now the world questions…will Bosh return to join James and Wade as a factor to the Big Three and Miami Heat next season?

Tim Duncan lost his first NBA Finals appearance of his brilliant career (4-1).  He led Spurs in Game 7 with 24 points and12 rebounds.  Last night’s lost was a tough one for San Antonio…”Everybody that thought it was going to be easy was mistaken.”

Head Coach, Erik Spoelstra, of the Miami Heat states, “This is the toughest series we’ve been in…we’re grateful to do it in front of our fans at home.”  A dynasty is being built and we, the world, have witnessed the start of it.  It can only be one Champ…the GOLD is theirs…WHITE HOT!!!

"No Head Band, No Problem"

Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night had the world in a whirlwind.  The Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs trailed each other throughout each quarter bringing a great amount of intensity and excitement to the fans on both ends.  The Spurs lead all three quarters (25-27 first quarter, 50-44 second quarter, 75-65 third quarter) until the atmosphere got heated.   And it only got better after a magnificent dunk from Lebron James, his head band comes off.  After losing that headband on the dunk, he had taken over from that point forward.  With two minutes remaining, the Miami Heat led by 3, but the Spurs weren’t letting up that easily.  With 20.1 seconds on the clock, Lebron tried to narrow the gap as the Spurs led by two 94-92.  And right before everyone’s eyes, the best three-point shooter in the league, Ray Allen came out of nowhere with 5.2 seconds left and tied the game to 95.

Right into overtime we went.  The first shot was made by Tim Duncan and Ray Allen finished out with the final two free throws of the night bringing the game to 103-100.  The ball was thrown in and assisted to Danny Green for a three-point shot attempt, until Chris Bosh floats into the air knocking the ball out of Green’s hand and taking his team to a win of the night.  The world is experiencing the, “Best two teams in the league,” Lebron James states during an interview afterwards.  He finished the game with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists as he shot 11 for 26 from the floor, playing 50 full minutes.  He called it the best game he’s ever been apart of. 

Mario Chalmers contributed to the win as well with a total of 20 points as he shot 7 for 11.  Words from San Antonio Spurs point guard and potential NBA Finals MVP, Tony Parker states, “It’s a tough loss, we had a great opportunity to finish it, but that’s basketball.”  Game 7 will be hosted on tomorrow night as we will end the best series of the NBA Finals yet.  “We feel very grateful to have the opportunity to play for a title in Game 7,” states Head Coach for the Spurs, Gregg Popovich.  Stay tune.

The Ring is Mine

Game 5 of the NBA Finals ended with a magnificent performance from the Big Three...Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili.  Each of them contributed to an "Incredible run of consistent excellence," as they are on their way to win their fourth championship in 10 seasons together.  Parker came out strong totaling 26 points despite his hamstring injury he sustained in the series...Ginobili subsequently scored a season and playoff high of 24 points while adding 10 assists...Tim Duncan with 17 points alongside 12 rebounds.  

And the biggest accomplish of the night was from Danny Green setting a new Finals record 25 of 38 from the three-point range shooting a magnificent 60 percent, surpassing Ray Allen's record 22 three-pointers back in 2008. The Spurs offense and defense was very sufficient all night.  The first quarter ended with the Spurs up by 13 points and ended the half by nine, 52-61, with four guys dominating in double figures.  With 7:30 remaining on the clock in the second quarter is when Green tied the record of 22 three-pointers in finals history with Ray Allen.  At the start of the 2^nd half with 9:39 on the clock, Danny Green breaks finals record with 23 three-pointers and left a disgusted face

Spurs TakeOver

Game 3 took San Antonio into a Finals record of 16 three-pointers on 32 attempts to take a 2-1 series lead over Miami.  The Spurs went into a 13-4 run in the second quarter with 4:22 left on the clock.  The half ended with the Spurs up 50-44 points…shooting 46.3% from the field.  Moving into the second half of the game, the Spurs began to dominate the lead and shutting down the Big 3 with 0 points in the third quarter with 4:25 remaining.  The Spurs played a great range of basketball as they competed on the boards…out-rebounding the Heat.  Into the fourth quarter…the Spurs led 78 to 63 and the upset only got worst as the score board changed into a 30 point difference in the ball game.  The Heat just couldn’t keep the match burning to compete with the same intensity as the Spurs as they finished 113 to 77.  The Spurs accumulated 21 more points to the score board than the Heat. 

In 25 Finals game in franchise history…they have never trailed in a series and they set the largest margin of defeat in the Heat’s post season franchise history.  Danny Green had the best overall performance as he reached his playoff career high of 27 points (7-9 3pt FG) and four rebounds.  He just couldn’t miss as he proved that he is one of the best three-point shooters in the league.  He states before Game 2…”It has been like a roller-coaster.  There was so much that happened but these past two years has been a blessing.”

He took advantage of his ability and showed the world that he could be the playoffs MVP. 

Then on Thursday night, Game 4 was hosted again on the Spurs home court but they couldn’t keep the Heat off of them.  “Lebron James (33 points), Dewayne Wade (32) and Chris Bosh (20) combined for 85 of the Heat’s 109 pints while shooting 57.8% from the field.”  The Big 3 were back in effect as they had something to prove to their fans.  The series is now back tied 2-2…stay tuned for Game 5 on Sunday 7:00 pm central time. 

Bandwagon or True Fan? Which are you?

Many across the nation hollers #TeamHeat every game....until they lose, or they allow their mouth to become reckless against the opponent. A true fan doesn't yearn to talk so much because the work is sat out on the court by the team no matter if they are leaving with a lost or a win...after a lost, a true fan stay calm because it's "Only one game" as you all say. When your mouth starts yapping, you show us how timid and scared you are. In reality you all lack alot of faith...you don't believe & trust in your team as you say you do. Many people really can't accept the fact that every person isn't a fan for the Heat or Lebron.  You give credit where credit is due, but understand you cannot make everyone trail behind you.  Every sport has a player or team that is disliked...get over it! And honestly, many of you aren't true fans...many of you parade on the back of the wagon, marching along with everyone else. I think many of you carry along only because you all think they will get another ring and make you feel like a Champ too...why you cant be a winner without the ring? Although both of my teams, the Lakers and the Grizzlies are out, we still walk proud like Champs WITHOUT the ring because we still have a chance next season. Okay sorry to arouse you all but I call it how I see it...Well let's talk...I know you all have alot to say now.

Questionable Series Miami vs. Indiana

The Heat took the game away from the Pacers at home as they took on Game 3 of the Playoffs.  This series is quite questionable.  Who will make it to the finals? Let's talk.

Swept in the Dust

Game 4 of the playoffs, Memphis Grizzlies versus San Antonio Spurs, had a cheerless ending on last night as the Spurs walk into the finals with a 4-0 series record.  The first half ended with the Grizz only being able to account for less than 15 shots while the Spurs enclosed 24 made shots.  Offense became very weak and the Spurs strength overpowered the Grizz defense.  Moving into the second quarter with 10 minutes left on the clock, Zebo, Zack Randolph, hadn’t made any shots from the nine minutes he had been on the court and Conley was only able to accumulate 2 points within his 10 minutes of game play.  Towards the end of the 2^nd quarter, Tony Parker was at 10 assists on 18 field goals.  As a whole, Memphis didn’t take care of the ball…shots were thrown up instead of making more smart decisions with smooth transitions. The half ended with 38 points on the Spurs end and 44 on the Grizz end, bringing the Grizz down by 6.  As for the third quarter the Grizz played right along side the Spurs adding 28 points to the boards.  Running down the clock, fourth quarter, Memphis just couldn’t pull through…leaving the Spurs to celebrate a 4-0 run into the 2013 NBA Finals.  Although down and out, the Grizz don't Bluff...this is an opening for a great future! Opponents beware, the Grizz are coming for you next season!

Will Bluff City bring Home a Win?

Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals pushed the Grizzlies farther into the backseat as the Spurs took over home court advantage.  Memphis took the lead as far as they could and eventually had to battle the game into overtime.  The Spurs went to work in overtime as they outscored the Grizzlies 18-7.  Tim Duncan dropping 24 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks, Tony Parker added 26 and Manu Ginobili scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.  They were able to pull off a 3-0 lead in the series as they outscored Memphis by 11, 104-93.  Conley 20 points and five steals alone just couldnt outweigh the overall performance of the Spurs.  Hopefully Monday night the Grizz can bring home a win to shake the series.  Stay tune until tomorrow night as Game four is hosted at the Fed-Ex Forum and ESPN at nine eastern time.

Pacers Shifting the Series

Game 2 of the Heat vs. Pacers game ended in an uproar last night as the Pacers took over home court advantage by 4 pts. (97-93) taking the series into 1-1.  Paul George has added fuel into the series as he play alongside Lebron James.  James was 10-of-14 shooting agaisnt Paul George with 25 pts but unalbe to score in the final 2:43 while George was 6-of-7 shooting against James with 16 pts last night; and has been shooting more efficiently during the series.  He compete with confident building plays and finishing at the rim.  "I love competition and appreciate the opportunity to come out to the world."  Paul George also states last night during his interview that the team has a strong, confident team with no egos and the positivity around him builds the bond that they have on the court. He is proving himself to be more and more sufficient as a third year player.  And he created an "Angry Bird" as he rose above Birdman shutting him down for the rest of the night.

Moving forward, our Big Man Roy Hibbert found his grove last night as well.  His Defense ended the many drives to the basket by the Heat; shooting 28 pts in 21 minutes.  Lebron wasn't able to do much with the ball with Hibbert on the court.  If he keep this up for the rest of the series, the Pacers will be in great shape.

Heat & Pacers Go into Overtime _Game1

The Heat & Pacers battle into overtime in Game1 last night. With 1 minute remaining on the clock, Bosh knocks in the ball off the glass concluding with an And 1 , tying the game at 99 leaving 49 seconds on the clock. Fast forwarding, Lebron goes up for a lay-up, leading the team by 2 with 10 seconds left of hard defense. The gym is steaming hot now, the Pacers have possession of the ball. Ball is thrown in, Pacers fumble the ball and finally recovers after a tough fight and Paul George attempts a 3, and it's good! attaining a foul by Wade. All 3 free throws are good; Pacers up by 1. 2.2 seconds remain and the Heat fans are devastated! Ball is thrown in, defense becomes weak from the Pacers and King James goes in strong ending the game by 1, 102-103. Heat leads the series 1-0. But I must say, the Pacers put up one hell of a fight. The competition is quite interesting. What can we all expect for Game 2??

Heat or Pacers?

The Pacers had the Heat pacing tonight. Who has the will power to dominant the series?
With 50.4 seconds left in the 4th quarter the game ties with 89 pts. Wade came down for a lay-up leading the team by 2 pts with 36.9 seconds left on the clock. As the Pacers come down to tie the game, Wade dismisses the 2 pt attempt. Allen missed 1st attempt on the free throw line & luckily knocks down the 2nd attempt. The Heat leads by 3 as the crowd questions the Pacers on tying the game up with a lucky 3?.07 seconds left on the clock and George pulls off a 3 to tie the game. #TeamHeat nervous now. Into overtime we go! What do you all think will happen within the next 5 mins?

Will Indiana keep with the Pace or will Miami fire them up?

Today is the beginning of the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat playoff series starting at 8:30 p.m. eastern time on TNT.  What are you all predictions of the game!? Let's talk

Who will take the Series to the Finals?

Will it be the Memphis Grizzlies or San Antonio Spurs to go forward into the 2013 NBA Finals?  The Spurs were able to sweep the Grizzlies off their feet Sunday night in Game 1 with a 22 point spread 105-83 in San Antonio.  As of last night, Game 2 of the playoffs, the Grizz gave the Spurs a run for their money as they took the game into overtime.  Late in the fourth quarter, Tony Allen drew a clutch flagrant foul.  Although San Antonio prevailed with a 2-0 lead into the series, will they have the fight to dominant Memphis at home for Game 3 and 4 beginning Saturday, May 25 at 9 p.m. eastern time on ESPN.  What are you all takes on the Playoffs?
